本剧围绕现代的爱情与婚姻展开。田小青、田小禾和田小野姐弟三人，各自在爱情与婚姻的问题上遇到困难，田小野与大学同学程遥的恋情被母亲拆散；田小青下岗，丈夫在外结识富孀，发展成婚外恋；田小禾婚前被强奸，丈夫发现儿子洋洋不是自己的亲生儿子。这几对恋人、夫妇同时经受感情的折磨，面对生活的压力，在体会到爱的艰难之中，逐步走出困境，找到自己的情感归宿。
