本剧讲述的是为爱投身影视圈的富家女乔安好和豪门私生子影帝兼CEO陆瑾年之间历经13年的曲折爱情故事。《国民老公》将以网剧的形式在腾讯视频播出，由领誉传媒和企鹅影视联合出品，企鹅影视是腾讯旗下公司，为腾讯视频打造多部精品网剧，包括《如果蜗牛有爱情》、《鬼吹灯之精古绝城》等，制作、发行经验丰富，成绩斐然。目前原著小说尚未完结，电视剧版将分为三季制作，每季30集，单集30分钟，第一季将于今年6月在上海开机。
