七集电视连续剧《陈云在临江》由中央电视台、八一电影制片厂、中共吉林省委宣传部、白山市委市政府和临江市委市政府联合拍摄。它以丰富翔实的史料为基础，真实地再现了1946年秋至1947年4月“四保临江”的战斗经历。当时，国民党重兵进犯我东北南满地区。身为东北局副书记、东北民主联军副政委的陈云同志临危受命，前往南满领导军事斗争和主持地方工作。陈云同志精辟地分析形势，形成了“坚决粉碎敌人进攻、坚持南满根据地”的正确战略思想和作战方针。在历时108天的“三下江南”、“四保临江”战役中，彻底粉碎了敌人的图谋，扭转了东北战局，为我军由战略防御转为战略进攻赢得了宝贵时间，为辽沈战役的胜利奠定了坚实基础。
